Luno
Tomorrow I'll be starting my new job as a software architect at Luno. I'm genuinely more excited for this adventure than I've been for anything else in my career, but don't have much to share right now about it. I'm sure by the end of May there will be much more.
WhatsCovered
I've figured out my focus for side projects, and I've realised that I want to keep working on WhatsCovered. I've 'reset' the web app for the moment while I build the v2.
My vision is to create the definitive resource for understanding the healthcare you have access to.
In South Africa, this is a massive problem - people who pay for medical aid on average have a very rudimentary understanding what what their insurance would pay for, and those without insurance have an even worse understanding of what healthcare treatments and services they can access. With the advent of NHI, this problem becomes more complex, and more important.
I've cared about healthcare my entire life, having a chronic condition that requires a lot of care myself, as well as growing up with a parent who is a passionate healthcare professional. This combined with my work experience in health insurance makes this project the one I care about the most.
I plan to create interactive and engaging content about important topics in health insurance that would be accessible to a larger audience than current resources are.
Writing
I wanted to write a short article of creative blocks, and as irony would have it - I am struggling with writers block.
Hopefully I can dig myself out of that meta hole.
